Before starting Van Stapele Koekmakerij, we had a dream of creating the perfect cookie recipe. Trays and trays of cookies went in and out of the oven, as we varied the amount of chocolate, sugar, and additional special ingredients.
Until finally, on a cold February evening, we took the umpteenth load out of the oven. We wearily sank down at the kitchen table and tasted. As soon as we had taken a bite, we sat up, looked at each other and knew:
